The Low-Impact Care Guide for Your okapi Staples
You chose your okapi piece because it's built to last and kinder to the planet. Extending its life is the single most important thing we can do for sustainability.
Here are the three rules for simple, earth-friendly care for your 100% cotton garments.
🌎 3 Steps to Keep It Simple. Keep It Green.
1. Go Cold. Save Energy.

The Simple Talk: Cold Wash Only.
The Eco Why: Heating water uses a lot of energy. Washing in cold water cleans just as well, saves electricity, and is the gentlest way to prevent shrinkage and keep the color locked in.
-
Pro-Tip: Use a natural, biodegradable detergent when you wash.
2. Turn It Inside Out.
The Simple Talk: Flip it before you wash it.
The Eco Why: This simple move protects the outside of the fabric—and any prints or dyes—from rubbing against the washer drum and other clothes. Less friction means less pilling and a longer life for your garment.
3. Air Dry. Skip the Heat.

The Simple Talk: Air Dry. Do Not Iron.
The Eco Why: High heat (from a dryer or iron) wears out cotton fibers faster, causes shrinkage, and wastes a huge amount of energy. Hang or lay your piece flat to dry instead. It's the most sustainable, low-impact way to do laundry.
-
Pro-Tip: To remove small wrinkles, hang the item in the bathroom while you shower—the steam is the best natural de-wrinkler!
♻️ The Big Picture
Â
We made your clothes simple so you can wear them longer. Washing less often (just air it out!), using cold water, and air-drying are the biggest ways you can help us close the loop and keep your favorite items out of the landfill.
Thank you for choosing the Earth's Triumph.
